About the Spring Cruise
The Corinthian Yacht Club of Philadelphia's Spring Cruise is the traditional start to our big boat summer sailing (and cruising) season.
The Spring Cruise takes place over Memorial Day Weekend every year.
We start with a casual welcome event on Thursday evening giving Captains the day to get their yachts from their home port to the cruise start.
Friday is reserved for our annual Fun Race for the Happy Hour Trophy. The immediate past winner of the Happy Hour Trophy is responsible for planning the current Fun Race. Creativity and humor are the name of the day for the Fun Race.
Friday night is reserved for the fleet to raft up and enjoy socializing among the fleet.
Saturday is the first formal race. Traditionally (but not always) a distance race.
Saturday night is reserved for the fleet to raft up and enjoy socializing among the fleet.
Sunday is the second formal race and Sunday night the fleet gathers for a formal (yachting attire is expected) awards dinner.
Memorial Day Monday is reserved to allow Captains to return to their home ports.
