Junior Sailing Program 2018
The Corinthian Yacht Club invites all young sailors to come and discover the joys of sailing. No experience required!  You need a sense of adventure and a willingness to learn. A variety of activities are planned, including activities in the swimming pool. The program runs from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM each day and Lunch is included.  Activities include - kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddle boards when the wind does not cooperate for sailing as well as indoor activities.
The Junior Sailing Program at CYCoP continues to grow and expand in our recognition of the youth of CYC and the Philadelphia area. The objective of the program is to provide more sailing and boating education both on and off the water, to a broader age range of participants (i.e., ages 8 through 17).

The ADVANCED sessions are designed to introduce and refine racing concepts and skills in 420s and Optis for returning junior sailors and campers with sailing experience.

Flying Scot
The Community Flying Scots at Corinthian are a fantastic platform for sailing introduction with a staff member on board.  Our Flying Scots have been specially rigged for ease of use and have a variable sailplan to allow comfortable sailing in a wide range of conditions.  Campers have fun learning the positions on the 19 foot boat at a speed that is easy to comprehend.  The Flying Scots are excellent boats for some of the campers favorite activities like "fire drills" and "alligator fishing" that teach boat handling and safety skills inside a game format.

C420
Our C420 sailboats are an initially stable boat chosen by many junior programs and an ideal transition to a performance boat.  They are more active for sailors looking for a more challenging but still simple and forgiving.  They react more quickly than our Flying Scots and can be sailed easily by two and three junior sailors. C420s are actively raced in junior programs and are the boat we use in our junior and scholastic programs http://www.420sailing.org/

OPTIMIST
Our club rigged Optis are used to offer our intermediate sailors a chance to operate a fast responding sailboat and sail either single or double handed.  The quick response of the Opti  is a great way to get feedback for your sailing skills and learn single handed skills for junior sailors.
Optis are found all over the world  http://www.optiworld.org/
