Frequently Asked Questions
1.) What time does it start? 10:00 am for check-in and safety talk.
2.) What time should I arrive?  10:00 am
3.) What do I need to bring?  Shotgun and proper attire for the gun range.
4.) What is provided?  CYC provides ear plugs, eye protection, shells, targets and coffee.
5.) Where do I go/park?  Drive west down the rock road to the right of the Clubhouse, and go through the gates.
6.) What’s the sign-in process?  Sign-in is located between the white trap house and the green trap shed.
7.) What are the expectations in experience?  Regular shooters must have experience in trap shooting and a basic knowledge of safety and gun handling.
8.) What are the expectations of novice shooters?  New shooters are encouraged to explore the program and sign up for novice clinics - see CYC schedule here.
9.) What do I wear?  Weather-appropriate attire, pants and closed-toe shoes are required.  Ear and eye protection required at all times for anyone on or near the range.
10.) What does it cost?  $18.00 per round for targets and shells.  Lunch for shooting member is $22.00.
11.) What awards are there?  Trophies and awards are presented at the end of the shooting season in April.
12.) How do I get started with Trap?  Email George Van Sciver at trap@cycop.com for inquiries and to get safe shooter certification started.
13.) How do new shooters get certified?  By working with an instructor at CYC  and by completing a safety course at the direction of the instructor.
14.) How much does it cost to work with the instructor?  Instructor fee is $65 per session in addition to the regular trap fee listed above.  Instructor can be paid directly the day of instruction.  Member accounts can also be charged for instructor fee.

* Trapshooting takes place RAIN or SHINE.  If weather conditions are unsafe, there will be a cancellation, and you will be notified.
**PLEASE NOTE:  48-hour notice to cancel an instructor session is required.  If you register for a session with the instructor and do not attend, you will be billed.  In the event the session is cancelled, you will be notified, and you will not be billed.
